What is Japanese Acupuncture?

Japanese Acupuncture is a unique technical craft, based on the collective clinical experience of literally hundreds of thousands of accomplished clinicians.  It is a living tradition, continuously being tuned to the times in which we live.

What separates Japanese 5-Phase Meridian Therapy from other styles of acupuncture practiced today is its use of gentle refined needle techniques and classical natural, non-invasive diagnostics.  Its methods are being continuously improved, based on the feedback and consensus of the whole person as a system.

In addition to the ability of acupuncture in treating known conditions, it is also effective for modern diseases, caused by humans changing relationship with their environment. These include new kinds of illnesses arising from the effects of pollution, allergic reactions and sensitivities, overuse of pharmeceuticals and other complex medical conditions.  Regular application of acupuncture by a trained Acupuncturist has the capacity to promote health and prevent disease.

What is Chiropractic?

A natural healing model based on vitalism showcasing the body as a dynamic, ever-changing organism, continuously evolving and adapting to its needs.  Vitalistic chiropractic understands that there is an intelligence and order within the organism that is designed to heal the body.  Every system in the body coordinates functions with each other system.  An example of this intelligence in the body is the concept of healing following a cut. The body knows without any input from the individual to send certain inflammatory factors to kill off any bacteria, activate clotting factors to stop the bleeding, and initiate tissue growth to heal the wound.

Chiropractic is designed on the concept of vitalism.  In chiropractic, it is understood that the body has an innate intelligence to healing, and disease occurs when the body’s natural ability to heal is interrupted.  The thing that disrupts this innate intelligence is called a subluxation, "that which subdues the full expression of light."  This is a mechanical dysfunction of the vertebrae, due to physical, chemical or emotional insult that blocks the normal function of the nervous system.  By removing subluxation through gentle and precise adjustments, the interference is removed and the body’s innate intelligence is able to function fully and properly.

Do you take Insurance?

We are happy to check your insurance.   We take insurance but it doesn't always take us.  Some out-of-state plans and some PPO plans may cover chiropractic and acupuncture services.  Auto Insurance (PIP) usually covers chiropractic and acupuncture care.  Medicare and Medicaid do not cover acupuncture (some secondary insurance might).

In order to best serve you, we can verify your insurance benefits before you arrive. Please call Abby at (719) 314-8335
